Travelers have a seemingly endless supply of options when it comes to travel and vacations. Taking a cruise is a popular option. However, while some people choose to cruise, and love cruising, others are not as keen to spend their vacation time and money on a cruise vacation.
Recently, I set out to find out about attitudes about cruising from people who choose not to cruise.
Let’s get one thing out-of-the-way. I am a big fan of cruise vacations. I have been on 7 cruises and have spent over 60 nights at sea. To be completely honest, I don’t love everything about cruises. I guess I don’t sweat some of the small stuff.
Cruising has been a good fit for my family and I am a happy guy when I cruise. Cruising has opened up the world to me and my family. I find it a very comfortable way to travel.
To Cruise or not to Cruise?
I know lots of people who love to travel and I know plenty of people who love to cruise. Some are self-identified cruise addicts.I also know people who choose not to cruise. I respect their choice. This should come as no surprise. We all think differently and that leads us to make different choices about how to spend our time and money. It is the differences between people that makes life interesting and makes the world an interesting place to explore. It is learning about the differences between people, places, and times that compels most of us to travel, in the first place.
When I set out to find out about attitudes about cruising from people who choose not to cruise. I posted the following on my Facebook account.
I got lots of feedback from my Facebook Friends. Enough feedback to fuel more than a few posts on this blog.
Once I compiled the results, I created the following graph to show the findings of my, very informal, poll.
